Knit in stylecraft acrylic 4ply on 3 3/4mm needles. This is a lovely easy pattern to follow and looks really effective in lavender (despite what my camera would have you believe!).

I always plan out my pattern before I start: so many pattern repeats; where the increases and decreases come, etc etc. And yet my careful pre-planning  always ends up  looking like something half a dozen drunk students scribbled together to divide up the bill at the end of the night.
