I only had grey tape to reinforce the button band, but it does the job quite nicely, and can only be seen on the inside.









 
Because of the changes I made in needle size and using 4ply yarn (about 250g red and 50g black), the chest came out at  46" with a side seam length of 14" to the underarm.

I know that cotton and acrylic aren't authentic to the period of these patterns, but I have seen some horrific videos of angora, alpaca and other farmed animals. Also, I know quite a few people who come out in a rash if they even see a sheep, never mind wear the wool. So, I try to stick to cotton, bamboo or acrylics.
